Digital Tattoo

One entry in the Greener Gadgets Design Competition for 2008 was this digital tattoo. It’s inserted underneath a patient’s skin and uses flowing blood to create displays, then sending the blood back through the host’s body. It is accessed via Bluetooth from certain other gadgets, so there are no wires or hookups. It’s obvious use is skin art, but think of all the other things you could do with it! Alarms, notes for class, reminders – it could even check blood sugar levels for diabetics. Once this idea is flushed out, I think it’ll be hard not to get one. Hopefully it doesn’t hurt.

Also check out all of the other crazy inventions entered in the competition here.
